Gmail is difficult to block since it can come from a large range of IPs that Google owns. If you have paid app Web Filter, check "Web-based Email" and then white list any allowed email domains.

That actually won't work. And, any attempt to block a singular Google service will block other Google services as well.

So block GMail at your own peril, you'll likely block use of the search engine too.

Doesn't Gmail use SSL and therefore invisible to Untangle? Welcome to HTTPS!

Largely yes, and that's the problem. Blocking GMail requires blocking all the IP addresses responsible for GMail, which in turn blocks all the addresses for Google search and everything else.

In short, you cannot block GMail without blocking all Google services.

Google and the enormous amount of information they collect needs to be checked at some point soon...Remember, Goolge wants to index ALL information, everything!
If ignorance about Google and their intention is your game, DO NOT read this book. Chilling!

Default How browsers make money, or why Google needs Firefox

The proof is somewhere in the pudding…
"Almost the entirety of Mozilla’s income — 97% of $104 million — arrives in the form of royalties from the Firefox search box, and the lion’s share (86%, $85 million) of those royalties are paid by the default search engine: Google."
