    i've seen untangles that are being hit by attackers on ports without port forwards have public ip's in the Ab table. If you are running a wsus server you need to bypass windowsupdate.com and microsoft.com...the other internal mahcines need tob e looked at in terms of what they are doing.

    I figured out what was causing the high ping times.

    Turns out one of the bosses had installed a program called OfficeDrop on his workstation which is apparently a cloud based storage system.

    With this program running (which it was on Windows start-up) the ping times etc were excessively high. As soon as it was closed everything went back down to normal levels. Repeated this a few times to prove it and then uninstalled the program.

    Internet connection, ping times etc etc all now back to normal and expected levels. Internet speed is like lightning.
