    Default NordVPN DNS

    Good day,

I have NordVPN up and running with most devices on my network going through the tunnel. I do have three devices which I have assigned to normal routing. My question is how do I set the devices going through the tunnel to use NordVPN DNS servers and have the other three going through my ISP DNS servers?

You're going to have to manually configure one set of stations to use the DNS you want, either that or split your network so that you have two separate broadcast domains with two different DHCP configurations.

Would adding a push line to the .ovpn file work? push "dhcp-option DNS 208.67.222.222" for example

If I leave the .ovpn file as is I get DNS leaks to my ISP.

That would configure a VPN client, your question seemed to be about configuring devices behind Untangle trying to use an Untangle supported tunnel. These devices won't have an OpenVPN client on them to be configured this way.

You need to change the configuration on the devices themselves.

I guess I wasn't very clear on my problem...sorry. I have Tunnel VPN installed and running on my Untangle. I uploaded the NordVPN config file and I have successfully connected to NordVPN server. My problem is that when do a DNS leak test it shows that I am using my ISP dns servers and not NordVPN servers. What I would like to happen is that when I turn on Tunnel VPN that any device tagged to use the tunnel uses NordVPN dns servers and when the tunnel is off all use my ISP dns servers.

Yes, we're saying that if you want your device to use the NordVPN DNS, you need to configure your device to use the NordVPN DNS (instead of Untangle or whatever it is currently using for DNS).

I was hoping there was a way to push the DNS server in the NordVPN config file.

Nope, because you're using that file to configure Untangle, not the device.
