Default new install - several setup questions

New install setup as recommended by others on forum.
    Home user.
    AT&T RG5268AC --> untangle appliance --> switch -->rest of LAN
I have setup up the RG5268AC with DMZplus mode where the untangle appliance gets the WAN ip address.

Is wiki.untangle.com best for reading thru all the options, etc.

Currently, I can not figure out how to:

    1) Block one of the kids devices between the hours of 2200 and 0600
    2) Determine device and data usage during a certain time period
    3) Prevent ping (ICMP Echo) requests (I have unchecked the box "allow ping" in access rules)
    4) Make sure I've turned on all the logging needed

    Thank you.

Google untangle home configuration video. It explains how to set up the policies for your kids.

    Thanks - very helpful.

1 - Can you use the same DEVICE USERNAME for multiple devices.
ie - can I use "john" as device username for john's: laptop, iPhone, iPad, desktop computer. Can they have the same username?

2 - in config --> support, what is the "connect to cloud" used for? do I need to have this checked?

3 - i have a couple of machines receiving large amounts of data. what is best way to use bandwidth monitor to see what those machines are doing?

As far as Device Username I don't know if you can use the exact same username for multiple devices. What I would do if I were you is use the usernames you listed (Johns Laptop, Johns iPhone, Johns iPad) and then in your rules just put John* to include all of Johns stuff. That is how I do it at my house. That way in the reports you can actually see each device identified separate by its name.

Do most people use the cloud services? Do I need them if I have virus app?

Is that the "Sessions Hosts Devices.." section I see in the top right of the screen?
When I click on "sessions" it then give me a huge list. Should I just arrange via client speed?

    Yes to all questions.

For seeing where the data is going, I use the application control info/reports the most. Session list next most often.
