    Default AmazonTV DHCP Issue

Anyone else have an issue with Amazon TV rolling through IP address?

I have two of them and they seem to be each having 10 to 20 dhcp leases on the hosts page. Of course only one is active so I assume it isn't a big problem, but curious as to why this is happening. I presume these leases are released as only one shows up on the DHCP page.

If i create reservations for these macs will the issue go away?

Is there a way to delete these off the hosts page to clean it up?

    Thanks!

What is the time frame? Do you have the default DHCP settings?

    jcoffin,

I sent you an email with my complete host events report (note that your PM box is full), and posted a piece of it below.

I believe I have the default DHCP settings.

The report seems to show that the user agent is changing often. Not sure if that is triggering something.

is untangle serving DHCP? Is someone else also serving DHCP?
in your current leases do you see all those leases? what is your lease timeout?

    Untangle is serving DHCP.
Nothing else should be serving DHCP and can't think of anything that could.

I don't see any extra leases just on my host list. And there is only one duplicate when I just look at active hosts. The rest are not showing the active flag. That is why I am thinking this is not important, but very odd.

Lease time is set to 1 hour at the interface level. I wouldn't be surprised if it is getting a new address when the lease expires but I have tended to find that most devices pick up the same address upon expiration most of the time. I understand without a reservation it is not all of the time, but didn't think it would simply constantly change either.

I am going to try to create a reservation and see what happens.

    Thx.

Yes, dnsmasq will give out the same previous address which is almost always unused if the pool is big enough.
Thats why I suspect something else on your network is doing some DHCP magic.
