Default untangle 5.3.0 hangs after sometime

I am running untangle 5.3.0~svn200824r16905 and after it runs for about 1.5 days it locks up. The screen displays the kiosk page and the mouse and keyboard are frozen. No lights are blinking on the keyboard, they are all off. I can't ping, ssh or access the http(s) interface. After the crash I had to manually stop and start services for internet access to work again.

    Hardware:
    1000mhz via esther
    512 mb ram (reports 438mb)
    3 x realtek rtl-8139/8139c/8139c+ (rev 10)
    1 x Via VT6102 rhine-II (rev 78)

Nothing seems out of place in /var/log/syslog,messages,daemon

I am swapping 24mb so I think I will get more memory. I had no idea untangle would be such a memory hog. This is the most likely culprit as far as I can tell, any other ideas?

    Thanks

if it doesn't respond to ping its more severe than memory shortage.

i suspect a hardware issue because its hard-locking.

does numlock work after it freezes?

    Default 5.3 Hang

I had this freezing issue occur today. Upgraded three days ago from 5.2. Upgrade did not go well and ended up starting with clean 5.3 iso.

Looking at the hardware specs (namely the type/brand) I would guess the issue lies withing that.
