    Default Amazon Fire TV cannot connect through Untangle

    Hi all,

    I have just setup my untangle box, and all seems good except when I try to use my Amazon Fire TV box and stick. It seems to be blocking it from connecting to Amazon through the untangle box.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

    I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never listen

    Go to web filter app; on pass sites tab add:
    */kindle-wifi/wifistub.html

    My guess is it's not on the network honestly, my FireTV works after simply being plugged in, all defaults, no changes required.

    None of my amazon based video sticks, pendants, or tvs would work without the above line.

    There is actually a forum thread in the webfilter forum that has the fix. I cant post links yet but it's

    I'm aware of that thread, but I'm also aware that I cannot duplicate the concern. I do not have the above configuration, and my fireTV works on every Untangle protected network I've tested it on.

    Do you have SSL Inspector enabled?

    If so, what I had to do was add a rule to ignore our FireTV Cube. I used client MAC address, in case of future changes to our IP scheme.

    Hope that helps!
