    Default Static Dns Entry

Is there a way to do a static dns entry based on the Mac address rather than the IP address? Reason is it would be nice if certain things had a dynamic ip with a static dns name like printer.xxx.org (xxx.org is the local domain name.

DNS resolves to IP addresses. That's what it does...

ARP resolves MAC addresses, and it's automatic.

So no... if you want things to stop moving around while being dynamically configured, hit your DHCP tab and make a reservation. Poof, it's now basically static. Setup your DNS record to aim at the now relatively fixed address.
