Umm... something is very wrong here.

The hardware has nothing to do with Untangle... If you're using vSwitches and vNICs to feed the ports into the VM that contains Untangle, Untangle is going to see the number of NICs you configure in the virtual hardware. The number of NICs on the host itself is utterly irrelevant to Untangle. It never sees them, nor cares.

Unless you're doing PCI passthrough, which I do not recommend.

But yes, there are a ton of moving parts in play here. And if you don't keep them all straight, they will bury you. As you've discovered.
