    Default Unmanaged switch & VLAN

A quick clarification question.. Assuming my appliance with UT installed has 4 NICs/ports..

    NIC1-WAN
    NIC2-Trusted/untagged
    NIC3-Unifi AP
    NIC4-IoT

I already have NIC2 running into an unmanaged switch for the 7 devices on wired/trusted.. Can I use an unmanaged switch on NIC4 to have more than one device on it wired? or does the utilization of an unmanaged switch lose the vlan tagging?

My assumption based on searches is that as long as I don't need to mix/match VLAN tags on the unmanaged switch I'll be ok..

    Thanks!!

Unmanaged switch will not treat VLAN tagged packets any different than non tagged packet. It won't strip them of the tag either.

    WARNING!

If your unmanaged switch has an upgrade variant that is partially managed, such devices are known to commonly strip VLAN tags.

But in theory, if a frame is tagged, it will be forwarded with tags.
