    Default Automatic update even if disabled

    Hi,
    one of my customer's UT just decided to perform an upgrade (at 2.50pm !).
    i disabled the automatic updates just because they cannot afford to go down during working hrs (they have 4 different isp feed with failover), but even tho, this happened !
    any reason?

    Config -> Upgrade

    Look DOWN, Automatic Upgrade Schedule... you set it for the time you want this stuff to happen. And that's when it happens! If it happened outside of when you expect, I suggest you double check the system's date and time.

    Untangle only upgrades when you tell it to.

    If you had it turned off before the upgrade happened, then I submit someone has your admin password.

    *Edit* Negative, another post has landed so I'm assuming something is up.

    To make matters stranger, my unit is now reporting it's Untangle v15.1.1, and it updated two hours ago. Now, my updates were on schedule... but there was no announcement for v15.1.1, and there's no entry in the changelog for it either.

    OP Please confirm is your unit now: Build: 15.1.1.20200905T150556.8ca624f09e-1buster (Config -> About)

    Just checked and I am also on 15.1.1 when I was on 15.1 prior.

    I have auto updates turned off as well. I did however set my time to a down time (3AM) should I ever want to enable auto updates in the future. Maybe why I didn't notice it updating even with the box for "Do Not Automatically Install Upgrades" checked. Still trying to figure out where in the logs it says it did the upgrade.

    Has someone raised this as an issue yet?

    --- EDIT ---
    Found the log. Config->System->Support->system_logs.zip->upgrade.log
    Looks like it happened this morning.

    Yeah, it was an emergency update to fix grub. Your unit may or may not have bricked on restart without it. So it's going into every box that needs it, regardless of update configuration.

    First time Untangle has resorted to such a thing, but understandable given the alternative.

    mmm quick question: i think the hang-on-boot thing just happened to one of my customer's box.
    they are running v15.0.0 and we had a power outage longer than expected so the system went off dirty.
    when power came back on UT did not started properly, it was hang on the boot.
    is this the error talked about in the link ?
    i had to do a powercycle and finally the system came back online.
    now, if i upgrade this box (not reinstalling) to 15.1.1 or 16, will this fix the problem ?

    No, if they were on 15.0.0 they are not affected by the Grub issue. So something else is going on... Not sure if the upgrade would help without knowing what the problem was. Would need specifics about where it was hanging.
