Default Question about RXDrop under the Network Status

I have an untangle 15.1 box that overall is working well. While poking around, I noticed under Config->Networking-> status there is a "RXDrop" field with a value in there. Does this mean it is dropping packets? The rxerr field is 0, and I haven't any reason to suspect anything is happening right now. Pings to the NIC are solid, and services like downloads, VOIP, VPN are running fine.

    What does that RXDrop mean?

So i take it a few are normal, but an excessive high number is an indicators of a network/nic issue?
