Default Release 15.1.1 - ignored update windows?

    Hi all,

We've just come into the office today to find a load of our sites running Untangle updates (it's 9AM here, and our maintenance window on the appliances is typically 11PM)

What we saw was the appliance offline in command center, so accessed via local ip and it said update in progress with a big box showing like a progress log

Afterwards, the box appears to now be on 15.1.1 (assume it wasn't before)

Is there a reason the update window is being ignored in this instance?
And based on the fact a large number of our fleet were in a similar state I assume this wasn't a phased update but was rapidly deployed?

    Thanks,
    C

I'm seeing the same here, boxes updated to: Build: 15.1.1.20200905T150556.8ca624f09e-1buster

That's a 15.1.1 Date release 2020-09-05, but there is no entry in: https://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/Date_Changelog to indicate 15.1.1 was ever released, much less a date release for Sept 5th.

This is the 2nd report of upgrades happening outside of their scheduled intervals on these forums in 24 hours. Now, my unit... it updated today, 9-10, at midnight. That is to say, about 2 hours ago as of this post. That's on schedule, because I'm set for midnight.

    But... something is fishy here.

I have an appliance that is set to "Do Not Automatically Install Upgrades", and has an "Upgrades are available and ready to be installed." notification.

I won't be pushing the [Upgrade Now] button.

    Great! thanks for searching!
There is nothing unusual about this kind of release. Updates are not always 'phased'. I think the purpose of that kind of thing is to mitigate server load when many packages are updated. Of course, UT is also likely to take their time with major changes coming out of a Beta test.

So the question remains, what is going on with the schedule (which I don't use).

Welp, I have never seen this before.

This 15.1.1.20200905T150556.8ca624f09e-1buster update was forced. between these two posts.

Same here. Automatic updates were turned off, but my box updated to 15.1.1.

I've been very happy with untangle for the 18 months I've been on it. But I have to say, releases with issues, and now updates being pushed when they weren't supposed to be is disconcerting.

Yep - all of my boxes are set to manually upgrade and one of mine automatically upgraded sometime yesterday evening/night. Annoying that it was force updated with no notice.

Never in the history of Untangle has a version release been forced.

That's a bug... and a serious one at that.
