Wireguard is only part of a Complete license currently.

Just installed on a z4plus appliance. Probably a fool question, but shouldn't it appear as uefi? I checked and sys/firmware/efi exists, so in theory it's installed as uefi

    I've seen this:

    https://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/USB_image_installer

Is that the proper way to install untangle on an untangle appliance or the way I did it (usb with version 16RC) works too?

Appliances purchased from us are not configured for UEFI.

i highly recommend using the ISO image in this thread and write it to a USB instead of the USB link you found.

So, is it not possible to install 16 as uefi on untangle appliances atm? Will it be a possibility in the future?

On the other hand. I'd like to try and test wireguard, that's why I installed the RC. I assume an ISO image will be available for version 16 once it hit gold, right?

I think there is some confusion. v16.0 will install UEFI. We ship appliances non-UEFI. If you want UEFI on a Untangle appliance, you need to change the BIOS to boot UEFI and re-install using v16.0. Let me know if there are any questions on this.

V16.0 ISO is already available at the beginning of this thread. Let me know if you have an issue locating it.

EFI vs BIOS boot is changed based on the hardware requirements imposed by the BIOS/EFI on the main board in your device. There is no benefit of EFI over BIOS unless you have hardware that's trying to boot to NVME storage.

Your appliance, doesn't require EFI so let it be BIOS. It works... it's happy there!

There is no functionality gained or lost on Untangle in EFI vs BIOS. So leave your poor appliance alone! And install v16.0 as BIOS if you want Wireguard now.

    5. Better support for live migrations with some hypervisors (you could take an untangle guest VM instance running on one physical host and move it to another host without shutting it down)... assuming you can also move the network interfaces you need at the same time (which is also possible with some SDN-capable switches)
    6. Better integration with some types of hardware monitors and tiny server LCD screens.
    7. Better support for onboard management/KVM solutions like IMM/ILO/IDRAC.
Ooh, I missed a big one: better support for NVMe drives.

    My u25xw differs.
I have not touched BIOS setting, I don't even know the keystroke to summon it.
