Is there a product like ProtonVPN that can be loaded into Untangle?

ProtonVPN is just OpenVPN or IKE2 depending on which service your select. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ProtonVPN

You will probably want to set it up under "TunnelVPN".

So can it be loaded on my Untangle hardware? It looks like PrivateTunnel is their product. Protonvpn has a product for wrt.

TunnelVPN is just an OpenVPN client configured specifically to be connected to a 3rd party provider.

    According to this: https://protonvpn.com/support/linux-vpn-setup/

OpenVPN is obviously one of their options, and therefore should work with the TunnelVPN Untangle APP.

You won't have any sort of named VPN terminator to match, but that doesn't matter. OpenVPN is OpenVPN.

Thanks Rob. So if I install Protonvpn in Untangle, would that create an environment where anyone connected through my hardware would have the benefits of Protonvpn?

Yes, depending on your tunnel rules. This is commonly done with other VPN services like NordVPN.

To be clear, you aren't installing anything in Untangle other than the TunnelVPN app.

You'll be configuring that app with OpenVPN details provided by ProtonVPN.

As for benefits of 3rd party VPN use? I've written books on that already on these forums. I personally feel they're largely a waste of time and money. But, you're an adult you can do your own research and make up your own mind.
