Default Platstation 5 and VOIP Chat

    Hi

I was wondering if someone can advise or help?

I recently purchased a Playstation PS5 , unfortunately the PS5 voice chat function (VOIP) does not seem to connect through my Untangle (latest version is installed), states unable connect due to network issue. My network is simply a - single WAN and LAN (flat network with a few access points but generally everything connects hardwired)

I have already tried to open the ports manually (links below) unfortunately this does not work

    https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/su...5/nw-102308-4/

    https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/su...ty-voice-chat/

I have also tried: nothing works

    1. ByPass rule for destination ip adress
    2. Web filter rules - *playstation.com
    3. Shield - pass rule

I was wondering if anyone has come across this problem ?

    Thanks

I always recommend bypassing game systems in both directions. So you'll want 2 rules, 1 with source address with the IP of the device and 1 with destination address with the IP of the device.

This takes filtering out of the equation, as the traffic from the system will only pass through layer 3 and not reach the layer 7 app filtering.

You could try bypassing the device to make sure none of the apps are affecting it: https://support.untangle.com/hc/en-u...from-Filtering

Most of the NGFW apps can interrupt a connection, which may cause problems for VoIP. The usual advice is to bypass the VoIP device, but you can also try assigning it Very High bandwidth priority in QoS. See the second step here: https://support.untangle.com/hc/en-u...shooting-Guide

Hi - unfortunately, this has not worked

Does anyone have a similar issue?

I have tried to by the PS5 IP address for both source and destination - still have the same issue

i have now resolved this with following changes -

Source / Destination bypass for PS5 IP
    Enabled SIP NAT Helper
    Shield bypass for PS5 IP

    Thanks
