    Default Network Cleanup

Figured I'd share, this thing was fugly for so long. It's about 90% completed, but here is an early before/after; just so I can feel better about it.

Am I sick for preferring the before?

I'm not used to clean... clean means things will be dirty soon.

You are very sick indeed! It was a nice feeling once it was done, and now cables are easier to track down and navigate.

Even the before is much better than what I'm dealing with right now. We only have a two-poster rack, with most of the servers sitting on hand-made wooden table. No cable management whatsoever. I'm ever so slowly bringing things here up to snuff, but it's gonna be a long road.

I was assuming that was an Adtran...

I honestly hope it isn't a Sonicwall... if it is you may have some irreparable damage to it randomly happen soon.

    Why? I saw it...

All anyone has to do to kill a Sonicwall is bring me into near orbit, they go up in smoke with a mere glance. Call it a superpower... call it fate... call it what you want... it's happened too many times to be coincidence!

They are fine if you never need to touch them, the dell closest to the bottom is a Quad core with 4GB of ram and RAID1 mirror running UT.

Well I understand the need to use Sonicwall, I just have this mystic power to nuke them with proximity. The only Sonicwall that has survived any time around me is a TZ170 on the shelf behind me... And I think the only reason that thing lives is an equal mystical ability with Untangle.

You see, that TZ170 and the Cisco PIX 500 right next to it exist solely for me to test IPSec with Untangle.

Yes, I have IPSec working... it's just... unstable. So I'm going to sit on my hands and let the UT guys solve that one. My time is better spent on things like, integrated wireless... perhaps cellular...

Jim and I have been having fun this year.

Still I'm jealous, I don't get to play with toys like that very often.
