Yes except I would add that most major players seem to want to enable DoH automatically, yet you can override this with one of your choice, on each client / browser.

If malware has a DoH resolver URL/Addr baked in, then control we used to have is lost.
But, like you said, then there are likely bigger problems at hand.

Huh! So actively managing user accounts and privileges, disallowing unmanaged devices within your protected subnet, and preventing malware from your protected domain is key to avoiding this issue? :-J

Exactly. DoH is not a panacea.

Likewise, a lot of this is not new risks, and server certificates should also help to secure DoH.
We just have to become aware of the new risk vectors.

You can't secure data you don't physically control, and you don't own the software you bought, you're simply licensed to use it. D'oh!

We don’t own our digital lives and it’s time we started caring about it

Having participated (mostly over the west half of the US) in the great Y2K telecom migration to a digital surveillance platform, and assisted the building, turn-up, and testing of the global fiber network that is our internet, some 20+ years ago, and for the past 15+ years coming to understand the totality of the NSA's packet collection information 'disclosure' ability, and having listened to many of Mr. Binney's interviews (several times), I understand the truth in his nonchalant reveal. Today, the knowledge of what has been and continues to be accomplished by the State across our digital realm chills me to the bone.
When you hear it said "they" have everything, it's not simply a threatening sound bite, but an absolute unfathomable fact!
