What could be a reason for my difference between Untangle's internal Download Test compared to the speed when downloading on a device?

Protectli's CPU (i5/7200U with 2c/4t 3.1Ghz), RAM (8GB) and storage (mSATA approx. 500 MB/s) should be capable enough. May it be the older Intel 82583V NICs?

He's using the console test built into UT, I "think" he's getting mixed up with mbps and mb's.

Why mixing sth up? I am questioning my approx. 40 Mb/s (320 Mbit/s) of the Untangle internal Download Test, while I have a Gbit connection and it should be more in the area of your speed 90-100 or little bit more dependent on the loss between. But 40 Mb/s is too low, not?

As explained, testing via wired client when downloading the similar file via browser or executing speedtest etc. gives me the 900 Mbit/s.

There are no general speed tests online that can keep up with gigabit.

And there are a TON of crappy NICs in desktops that can't do it either.

You aren't testing Untangle, you're testing everything in the world between the source of that test file down to the machine you're testing from, and its internal devices.

Netflix's Speedtest works KINDA fast.com.. In reality, do we really care what we get for a burst speed test ? I mean i used to chase numbers but it was pointless in the end.

Buffer bloat also kills speed tests. Why Untangle never took advantage of this generous offer I will never understand.

I presume they're too busy assuming we're all going to buy into their little license via bandwidth scheme in SWWAN router.
