That's pretty cool, but this one looks like more fun :)

I remember when Duke Nukem and Doom just came out. We created a custom map that was the lay out of our corporate office. We would spend hours after work hunting each other down. The good ole days...
We played Quake here. There are about 75 people in this office and about 10 of us would play every lunch hour. Back then we could get away with it, the LAN traffic was minimal and I was the IT manager ;)
Oh man...the hours spent on Quake. What an addiction that game was....pretty much the first true 3D environment for FPS.
The Requiem mod rocked...turned the nail gun into a flamethrower.
I can still hear the yelling sound from when someone was running around after catching on fire.
We played the gangster mod here! There were four of us that played that sat all in the same room. Every once in a while we would drag a newbie into the fray if somebody was out.
One of our favorite things to do to the newbie was sneak up behind them, say 'Hey Chris, turn around', then when they did BANG! headshot and the newbie would curse us and we would laugh our butts off.
Juvenile I know, but I was much younger then. ;)
I have to correct you on this one...
Descent was the first truly 3D FPS. The original quake was released after, and it wasn't 3d, it was just like DOOM. 2D designed to make you think it was 3d.
Quake II was finally 3D, as it ran with Glide on the Voodoo series accelerators from 3DFX.
Game History... I'm such a dork.
Descent sucked. :D
Quake Mods Rule!
Quake II was the game that got me hooked.
