    Question No OpenVPN Config Download

    Hi all,
after upgrade to 16.0.1 the downloads of OpenVPN client config files does not work anymore.
Connecting OpenVPN with existing config files works, newly created clients and existing clients configs don't work.

    I come to the URL
    Code:
    https://untangle.<mydomain>.de/openvpn/inline.ovpn?client=Frank-mobi
    and get as result
    Bildschirmfoto 2020-10-26 um 07.58.57.png

    Any help is welcome...

    Best regards,
    Frank

FWIW I just tested this on one of my boxes that has upgraded to 16.0.1 and the inline config download works fine both with existing and new client configs; so it does not appear to be a general 16.0.1 problem. Yours is likely fouled up somehow.
If you can stand to do it, the quickest thing to try is to remove and re-install OpenVPN. That will invalidate all your existing OpenVPN connections of course, so it may not be palatable. You could try restoring a backup after re-installing OpenVPN to get the existing connections back, but that could bring back whatever is fouled up too.
Or, open a support ticket (but be aware their solution may be to re-install OpenVPN).

just a quick sanity check though, you are going to that URL via OpenVPN->Settings->Server and clicking the Download Client button, correct? You're not trying to go to one of those download URL's directly, right? they don't work until you've clicked the Download Client button, that's what actually generates the config files which are stored for a limited time.

With further investigations I can see that the config files are created under
    Code:
    /tmp/openvpn/client-packages
    .
I can access them with ssh, so that it is not (longer) a killer fault.

(Yes, ssh is not recommended and supported...)

Some days ago, before the upgrade to V16, I accidentally removed the OpenVPN app (with an too old backup) and had to recreate ~140 client configs. That was not fun and I would prefer to avoid this...

Here is a simple script to download all .ovpn on your untangle unit.

This URL is not valid until the process for generating it is done by using the post first. The restart on upgrade deleted the /tmp directory files.

I have also tried to use the OpenVPN app, and that fails to import the client settings file using the button.
"Import failure: java.lang.RuntimeException: Failed to import client config."
