Low space in disk
Hello,
I have installed the latest version of untangle with Firewall, WanFailOver, WanBalancer, Intrusion Prevention and Reports.
in 2 days I have 90% of space occupied on disk and space problems. This happened to me 1 month ago with the previous version of untangle and only 4 days of retention. Does anyone know why this happens and how can I avoid it and solve my disk space problem?
Thank You

What disk capacity are you using?

It depends what rules, settings you have set up. An example that happened to me. I set 2 new files for virus blocker to scan. My disk space dropped about 10% just by adding them to the scanner. Having a session widget in the main window drops it about the same.

I think what's being logged (settings, as Loudog2 mentioned) is a factor along with retention. Not just how long, but also what.

- What is the hard drive size?
- What is the Max active host ?
- What options are checked in /admin/index.do#config/network/advanced

The Size of Hard Drive is 100 GB
About 90 active Host
In /config/network/advanced options enabled:
Send ICMP Redirects
enable Strict ARP Mode
DHCP Authoritative
Log Bypassed Sessions
Log Local Outbound Sessions
how can i see /admin/index.do@config?

That hard drive is definitely too small. For 50 users I'm using 500 G drive.

It depends on your session count, not your device count, and rules are irrelevant now everything is logged. However how many modules you have does matter, because non-present modules don't log anything!
Max active: 129 devices, average sessions 1500, drive size 120gb, retention set to 7 days, and I'm using 36.21gb.
OP all you can do is go into Apps -> Reports -> Data, and shrink your retention setting. Then wait until tomorrow for garbage cleanup to nuke all the old report data. The base Untangle installation the base Untangle installation consumes about 1gb of space. So if you take your drive's consumption, subtract a gb, and divide by the numbers of days of data you have stored, you'll know about what a single day consumes. From there you can extrapolate the maximum retention in days you have with that storage. If you want more, you'll need a larger disk.
Leave some room, because the server above? I used to keep it at 14 days retention, and why not I'd only need 80gb of space right? Well, Windows 10 1709 rolled out and the extra windows update sessions flooded the disk! Then I get low disk space alerts...

I have Firewall, Reports, WanFailOver an WanBalancer APPS
It's possible to get 7 days retentions with that apps and a drive size 120 gb??
Are there som basic template to know what to log an no?
thank you
