    Default Smtp server no authentication

I have some equipment in my network that has the ability to send emails out when there is a problem (i.e UPS and Raid cards), plus my untangle server. These are a little older and to make it work you just had to put a smtp server. The problem is most smtp servers now require it to authenticate which the equipment does not allow for. I have been trying to install an email server to no avail. I was wondering if anyone know of any smtp servers I could use online services that just use a simple smtp server. Or even a easy install of an email server I could setup.

Check with your ISP, they should have a smarthost that is authenticated via IP whitelist.

I called them and they said that they could not do it without authentication.

Erm... time for a new ISP. Every ISP I've ever used has a smart host that authenticates based on the sender's IP address. That way they know it is you...

Maybe the guy did not know what he was talking about. I have a comcast business account. I would think they would allow something like this.

Yeah, I know comcast has an IP whitelist smarthost. I've used it, call support and ask for the smarthost information. They will have to put one of your static IP's in the white list... and you should be gold.

You can use an SMTP server such as SMTP2GO:
I would post the link to it to be more useful, but am unable to do so as my post count is less than 5.

There aren't very many SMTP servers out there that do this, but there are a few.

    try with "smtp.comcast.net"
and if they can't provide you with a whitelist solution change ISP
