I am also experiencing this issue - Java is using almost 100% of my cpu (top shows 400% utilization on a quad core box).
Any suggestions?
Thank you for the clarification - it is a bit confusing to offer production tips and links to OVAs in the official documentation, but maybe I'm thinking about it the wrong way.
we have quite a few kiosks that are in a workgroup environment - would it be possible to reconfigure the VBS script to show %computername% instead of %username% on these machines?
I get what you're saying - for some reason I had to read it a few times. ESX/ESXi is not listed in that sentence.
SO - the answer is, yes, support is provided for ESX/ESXi *only*.
Thanks!
I agree with your assessment that support is limited directly to UT itself, and only under ESX environments, but there's still that first sentence:
"The virtual appliance can also be used in for...
Sorry, that was confusing. Because you said "however", it seems like you meant to say that UT in a VM is supported, but they will not assist in the configuration of the ESX environment?
We are currently testing UT, with fairly good results thus far. However, one of the primary reasons we took an interest in UT was the ability to virtualize it, if we so desire. Unfortunately, the...
Excellent idea - I was able to download 2GB from usenet at 50Mb steady, with an average load of ~3.00.
For anyone else's reference, this is a PowerEdge 1850 with 2x dual core 2.8 Xeon (800Mhz...
So, if I understand right, 8.00 load is *technically* %100 CPU utilization, but 98% of REAL CPU is between 0-4.00?
So far we're averaging 1.7, but I'm unable to push my connection past 38Mb -...
There must be some specific differentiation between System and User, otherwise they wouldn't be listed as such? I highly doubt I would alter the configuration, I'm just trying to understand what's...
So it could potentially be UT displaying a block page for the Adware category (random example)? That makes sense - thanks!
Since installing UT in bridge mode, all my clients are sending requests directly to UT on port 80. Can someone explain a little bit of this?
I have a small VLAN dedicated to the firewall/L3...
Where could I edit/view those? I only see 1 tab, labeled "Cache Bypass" with maps.google.com listed - however, in the past 5 hours I've got 280 user bypass and 99 system bypass. I'm not sure what's...
Could someone shed a little light on the difference between User and System Bypass? The wiki sort of lumps them in to 1 description (assuming I understand it right).
Thanks for that - do the daily reports show CPU time, or would I be better off monitoring via SNMP?
I'm running UT 8.1.1 on a quad core PowerEdge 1850. this machine has Hyper Threading enabled - does that mean my load is at 100% when it's at 4.00 or 8.00?
Thanks to both of you for your input! I'm still grappling with the lost investment in TMG that would take place if we move to another solution (most likely untangle), but the hassle it's put me...
SMTP is received through an offsite Barracuda appliance, so it is not publicly open in the sense that security is our responsibility.
I did a bit more research on reverse proxies, and the only...
OWA is literally our only public web service, but can you recommend some products to look at? I'm pretty green in this area, admittedly.
That is a very interesting take on the subject - pretty much the exact opposite of what MS will tell you.
Pretty much the only thing I like about Forefront TMG that UT doesn't have is a way to authenticate to the firewall itself, which is then passed to OWA automatically. This way, you are not...
Redundancy is the primary concern. NIC failure, I find, is rare; switch PSU failure, a little more frequent.
Thanks for everybody's help and patience!
OK, I think I understand now.
Is it accurate that UT 8.1 does not support NIC teaming?
So *no* IP address changes need to be made to my current infrastructure; I just set UT to bridge mode, plug the outside interface to my firewall and inside to my switch, and that's it?
If so,...
