Thanks for the clarification. I wonder why the developers went this route. This seems to greatly limit the functionality of Untangle. Why can't I just have one device for my small network? It sounds...
Then why did you point me to the wiki, it doesn't explicitly state this is not allowed? And why does Untangle support seven interfaces? What use do the other four have?
Ok, I guess I don't fully understand that statement but DHCP would be a huge plus if I could get it working on my additional interfaces. Following that routing traffic to the internet would also be a...
What is the purpose of Untangle supporting up to seven physical interfaces? What will the other four interfaces be used for?

I have seen and read through this. This guide tells you what DHCP is and how to configure certain options off DHCP. This does not tell you how to get DHCP working on interfaces other than Internal.

I've gone through and through the wiki and I don't see instructions for this. I have seen pages which mention this can be done, but no instructions. If you could direct me to a link which directly...
I have a bunch of extra NIC ports on my Untangle box that I would like to plug computers into in order to have Untangle act as their router and gateway (where eth0 is WAN).
Can someone please...
Yeah, I am able to get an IP as well as ping the gateway, however the gateway is as far as I can get, I can't ping anything on the internet.
Ahh I just caught it, My CIDR should have been 24, not 32. Now I just have to figure out how to get traffic routing.
Ahh that is very helpful, I did not realize. However I still can't get an IP from Untangle.
Here are all my settings:
Interfaces:
eth0:
Connection Type: Dynamic
Wan: Checked

So it looks like I might be using the wrong wizard, under networking I clicked on the advanced tab and then clicked the run wizard button (which specifies it resets settings). It went through a few...
Just to confirm, the wizard is the only way to set Untangle up in router mode?
Untangle will be given an address in the 192.168.1.0 range and conveniently enough Untangle's DHCP server was...
I am pretty sure I would have selected Router mode but I have reinstalled Untangle a number of times (due to me experimenting).
I do want Untangle to be the gateway device. The only reason there...
Does this mean Untangle is in bridged mode by default? How do I enable router mode?
I don't have a clearly defined goal at this point, I just have ideas about how I would like my network setup. I...
That is correct and Untangle does seem to be acting like a bridge to the Router/Gateway (I do not want this behavior). For management purposes I want untangle to handle as much of the network as...
I changed my network adapters in ESXi to be of type e1000. As soon as I did this my client machine starting picking up an IP address, however, this was the IP address from the router that Untangle is...
Thanks for the reply. I will switch my adapter types to e1000. I do have promiscuous mode enabled inside of the ESXi configuration for all of these nics.
Hi, I am brand new to untangle so please, be gentle.
I have a VMWare ESXi machine running a few clients one of which is Untangle. In this machine I have a few nics. I am dedicating six nics to...
