I think more options, more flexibility, might equal more adoption of UT.

    Poll: rDNS

I understand why the AD connector is there. But there are mid sized companies running Linux/Unix for many of these services--and a lot cheaper too.
We already have DNS running the way we want it. ...

It would be nice if it could be pointed to an internal DNS server, gather then information and even cache it if need be for speed until the serial# on the DNS server changes.

I see. Is that a future feature for people not use AD? Knowing the hostnames without having to map each single one would be a real plus.

Poll: It didn't work for me

I set my external interface to point to the internal DNS. It didn't work.
I wouldn't think that it would since the external is a PUBLIC IP and the internal is not.

    Poll: Is that a typo?

Am I understanding incorrectly or did you mean to say that for interfaces I should set the Internal one to the DNS server? The external one should be an address from the ISP shouldn't it?

    BTW, I...

However, if I could use my DNS, it would be nice. I may eventually have AD, but don't at present. I'm probably not alone.

I am doing fixed IP's at present, so that is not an option for me. It makes determining "WHO DUN IT" simpler.

Poll: Use DNS to get Hostname

In the quest for "who done it", instead of the Name Map thing where I have to plug in every IP and a machine name, if there isn't a way to use a company's DNS to determine the host and show that...

Porn Event listed: How to tell who?

I don't have AD. A porn event showed up in the summary. I would think that clicking on the word Pornography at that point, would be a link to "who done it", at least by IP. (this would be a good new...

These look like they'd be great hardware for installing Untangle. I wondered if anyone had tried them.
