    I am having a very similar issue, mails are being sent out very slowly and even the ones that do get sent out are stll left in my Exchange 2003 Queue, but I can receive mails fine. I have Untangle 5.1 setup in bridge mode and have made the changes mentioned earlier in this post, but nothing has changed

    When I remove untangle from the mix, everything works fine.

    Default Possible Fix

    Hello sir,

    I have managed to fix this issue if you do the following you should not have a problem.

    First of all you have an internal address usually 192.168.1.0/24 or 192.168.1.1/24

    Now it does not matter what your internal address is but it needs to have /24 at the end with no spaces so for example 0.0.0.0/24 you need to get your internal address and tell untangle to not monitor the range.

    /24 tells untangle the range which is everything from 1 to 255.

    You can do this by following the next section.

    Goto the Config Tab
    Networking then put your mouse over the advance tab and press bypass rules.
    Then add a bypass rule,

    Description = bypass internal network
    make sure enabled and bypass has been ticked

    Then in the box below add

    Source address = yourinternaladdress/24
    Source Interface = Internal
    Destination Port = 25 or what ever your out going mail port is.
    Protocol = tcp and udp

    Then save and you should be able to send emails again with the untangle server working correctly.

    I sent this same problem to another user is may help your situation.

    Thanks again
    Interwep

    Version 5.1 has a default No Rack policy for outbound traffic on port 25. This means that no outbound mail should be scanned b y Untangle....Sounds like you may have your cables backwards. Try unplugging your external interface and go to Config > Networking > Interfaces tab and click refresh. If it say that the internal is unplugged then you need to swap your cables around.

    Hello.

    I tried this suggestions and my problem is always the same.
    when UT is connected and when some companies send me emails, they remain on their mail server with the error "connection timed out".

    I can not leave UT connect. Nobody can tell me where is the problem?
    If you have an idea, I am taker.

    Thanks

    I have the same problem, all mail outbound gets hung up in exchange queue.

    What I find that interesting is if I run an older version of untangle (5.03) everything works fine.
    If I run anything newer I can not send.

    Also, after messing around a lot with it I found if the outbound email is very small, like only a few charectors it will send.

    Been running the older version as a workaround, would really like to use 5.2!

    btw, untangle is in bridge mode.

    Okay, let's try to troubleshoot the problem. Start off with just turning off Spam Blocker. Don't change anything else. Let's see if Spam Blocker is the source of the problem.
