By default Web Filter is configured to inspect HTTPS traffic. See if yours looks like this:

Keep in mind that this is not the same sort of inspection as done by SSL Inspector, but then, SSL Inspector isn't intended to be a standalone solution.

Yes it is, I guess I'll try removing the inspect all.
Interestingly it worked fine till last week...

    Thank you!

    You're welcome.

It's possible that the site changed how it handles SSL traffic.

The issue is it suddenly affected many ssl sites at once.

Again, I haven't experienced any change, but then I don't inspect all sites because doing that has always caused me more problems than it solved. So I see no issue at this time with SSL Inspector.

I've had many SSL sites completely stop working last week as well. Some of these sites were previously used and I'm unaware of any changes that could cause this. Every day now I have to exempt multiple sites in SSL inspection and this is on an Untangle that's been in use for years.

Typically on the web page itself Chrome displays:

This page isn’t working [sitename.com] didn’t send any data.
    ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

In the server logs it shows:
"Server SSL decrypt exception: Tag mismatch!”

I've confirmed the certificates on the now broken sites are using a variety of TLS versions so there's no pattern there.

Thank you for that information, and welcome to the Untangle forums!

Since I haven't run into this yet, what's the Untangle version? I don't use Chrome, so is this behavior reproducible in other browsers?

Can you post the SSL Inspector log snippet if you have it?
