Default How To: Get System Info in Alpaca

This is something I worked on before and it was laid to the side for a while. If you have suggestions for other items that you would like to see on this page then post them here. There are other things I would like to do with it when time permits.

    Install

Open an SSH session to your Untangle server or open the terminal directly at the console and run these commands

    Code:
    cd /tmp
Run this if you are upgrading from a previous version of this Add-on. If not, then just skip this command
    Code:
    rm sysinfo.tar.gz
    Code:
     wget http://tdmcbeth.googlepages.com/sysinfo.tar.gz
    Code:
    cd /
    Code:
    tar zxvf /tmp/sysinfo.tar.gz
    Code:
    /etc/init.d/untangle-net-alpaca restart
Now just go to http://ipaddress/alpaca and you should have a new tab labeled System.

Click the buttons to view it's information

    Updates
    8/21/08
    Updated add-on to include:

    Hardware Details

    Active Connections

The tar command isn't quite right, it assumes you are / not /tmp. I think these steps will work:

    cd /tmp

    wget http://tdmcbeth.googlepages.com/sysinfo.tar.gz

    cd /

    tar xvzf /tmp/sysinfo.tar.gz

    /etc/init.d/untangle-net-alpaca restart
