Our assumption was that the services would put the reconnect settings in the ovpn file.
However, we're seeing vendors where this isn't the case, so we'll likely need to figure out some external process to restart it or just add some default reconnect settings to the imported ovpn file.

Auto reconnect would be great. I have had several VPN trials and none reconnect automatically. The only way seems to be to disable and then re-enable the Tunnel. I have also tried various edits of the OVPN file without success. At the moment, at least for me, the VPN Tunnel app is not really usable.
What service are you using? It depends on the service.
For nord you can just change ping-restart 0 to ping-restart 120
in the config file.
For other services you can likely add it if its missing

Yes, you can add
ping 10
ping-restart 120
nord will still boot you eventually with an authorization failed unfortunately
I'm trying out some other services

Thanks.
I am looking at their server load for my area and choosing the one with the lowest load.
I will report back.
