Default How do I enable https scanning?

    All,

newbie here, so please be patient with me. Itīs day 1 of the 14 day trial. Fresh install, v14.1.2. SSL Inspector and Virus Blocker are installed and active.

At first glance, it seems that VB does not inspect https sessions, as eicar gets blocked via http, but every https download gets through (using the original eicar site)

Itīs likely I forgot to setup VB in the right way (so that decrypted https traffic is inspected as well). From the options shown in VB config I can only scan HTTP, SMTP and FTP.

So how does this work together:

    - Is decrypted https traffic automatically seen as http by VB and should be inspected?
    - Or do I need to explicitly state that VB should inspect decrypted https? If so, how is that done?

So it seems the default rules for SSL Inspector have "inspect all traffic" unchecked. Activating this option helps getting https eicar blocked. Not sure if thatīs the best option, but for now it does what it should.

SSL Inspection is more involved than most of the features in Untangle. Since it is a Man-In-The-Middle break in HTTPS some sites and PC apps will not work with re-packaged HTTPS which does not have the expected signed certificate. With inspect all traffic checked, there will be issues with some apps and web site which will need exception rules to work correctly.
