    Default It's a WAF!

We’re excited to announce that Untangle will soon be introducing a new product - Web Application Firewall. The product will be packaged as either a Docker Container or a Software Appliance so you can run it on your own hardware, a Linux server for example in AWS, or directly on your web server system if you use Docker. Untangle Web Application Firewall is designed to sit in front of your Web Servers to protect them from bad actors who may be trying to exploit your web application or cause harm in a way that could compromise sensitive data or result in a denial of service.

Stay tuned for a beta release announcement with details on how to download and deploy Untangle WAF. Meanwhile, we welcome your thoughts and other feedback as we continue to build and improve the product.

My wife will be pissed because you are spreading your dev resources thinner. They are already too thin.

    Congratulations I think.

Will this also mean that you will be moving in to the web balancing space more?
I would love to have more Loadbalancing features and on that add WAF as one could terminate the external TLS session in that LB point.

Would reverse proxy be present in this version?

Yes, WAF is specifically a reverse proxy.

Yes, it includes a Load Balancer with options (Sticky, Round Robin, Random, and Least Connections).

Nope, just nginx is the right tool for WAF.

nginx is the right tool for anything that needs a web service. I was a bit long to that party too... stuck to Apache2 way too long.
