    Default Stop device phoning home

    Hi all,

    Hope you are well.

    I have come back to Untangle after a long absence trying different firewalls, I have been playing with PFSense and Sophos, but after some time, decided need to come back.

    I have brought the 50 home basic package but realise that this doesn't come with Threat Protection, but understand that I can do most things in Web filter. I have setup usernames for most of my home devices. Whilst in the trial of TP I have noticed one of my CCTV cams keeps trying to 'phone home' to an IP, could somebody go through how I can block this in Web filter please?

    Much appreciated
    Thanks

    It's a camera... why are you using the web filter?

    Make a firewall rule, that thing doesn't need internet access at all, and if it does it's only to the DVR's IP. That's two firewall rules, and block and a pass.

    I would just use the Filter rules in Config -> Network -> Filter Rules.

    The rule would be

    Source IP = CCTV cam IPs
    Destination I = phone home IP

    Action = Block
